Saint Brigid
You were a woman of peace.
You brought harmony where there was conflict.
You brought light to the darkness.
You brought hope to the downcast.
May the mantle of your peace cover those who are troubled and anxious,
and may peace be firmly rooted in our hearts and in our world.
Inspire us to act justly and to reverence all God has made.
Brigid you were a voice for the wounded and the weary.
Strengthen what is weak within us.
Calm us into a quietness that heals and listens.
May we grow each day into greater wholeness in mind, body and spirit.
Amen

Welcome to our parish website. It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to St. Columba's Iona Road Parish website. The internet is a great force for good and it can be very effectively used to communicate the Gospel. The Gospel is good news and I encourage you to share and to spread some of that good news not just to the parishioners but to the entire world by means of this wonderful vehicle of communication.

Our website will be local and universal because it is part of the Catholic Ireland Website. You will be able to log in to get news of the church throughout the country and the world and also to keep in touch with daily readings from the word of God.

Congratulations and thank you to the parish pastoral council for getting this initiative up and running.

This is our vehicle of communication. Use it and spread the word of what the Lord is doing in our lives and how he is blessing our parish so abundantly.
