Iona Community Games 2010 The National Community Games is an independent voluntary organisation providing opportunities for children and young people to grow and develop in a positive and healthy way while experiencing a wide range of sporting and cultural activities. The Dublin Community Games is in existence for over 40 years and for administration purposes is divided into a number of registered areas. The IONA catchment area is bounded by Lwr. Drumcondra Rd (West), Botanic Ave, Glasnevin Hill, Old Finglas Rd, Finglas Rd, Prospect Rd, Whitworth Rd (incl. Claremont, Dalcassian Downs, Glasnevin Court / Woods, The Willows). See www.dublincommunitygames.ie/. The IONA Community Games committee organises a number of annual events such as Athletics, Art, Swimming and basketball. All events cater for girls and boys aged from under 8 to under 16 and medals are awarded for the top three places in each event. Winners in the local events can represent IONA in the Dublin finals.
